Animation and Events

Hi there,

I am working on a ppt presentation which should look professional, so
I was playing a bit with cool png images and custom animations. Looks
cool indeed, but what I want to do now is to interact from VBA macros
since I also have COM API's involved. So for instance I have a command
button on a slide, that interacts with some of those API calls. If
pressing that button an animation should start indicating that
something is going on and finally another picture should be displayed
once it is over.
Can I call custom animations from a VBA script? If so how I would do
that most efficient, and if not: what would be the best approach to do
so, I was surfing through some pages but I am a bit confused.

Another item I am confused about is events like slide show started
etc.
I would like to use those, but how?
Do I really need an add-in in ppt for this (In excel i just select the
on workbook open..)? If so, what if distributing the PPT? Do those
users also have to install that add-in?

I am using Office 2003 on WinXP.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions!

Markus
