animation does not play in PPT 2002 - suggestions?

Anyone know of problems with animation using PPT 2002? I
can "preview" the animation using the <PLAY> button on
the Custom Animation pane to the right of the slide.
However, when I play the presentation in Slide Show mode,
the animations do not work. I have checked multiple
settings and cannot find the problem.

Suggestions?

How are the animations set to start? On Mouse Click, With Previous, or After
Previous?

Shawna,
Have a look in the menu Slide Show, Set up show. Is there a check next to
"Play without animation" (not sure about the wording here as I have a Dutch
version, it is just under the repeat until escape) on your lefthand side.
Uncheck and you should be allright.
