You'll have to explain in more detail what you are doing. Most
animations work in Slide Show View and are, by default, set to On Click.
That means you have to go to the slide and click to get the animation to
work. When you tell us more about what you tried, please include what
version of PowerPoint you are using and what version of Windows.

Please explain exactly what you have done and what version of Powerpoint you
are using. You don't 'insert' an animation. Have you viewed the presentation
in slide show mode? This is where an animation is seen to move. What are you
trying to animate? What result are you expecting?
