Animation Trigger

I used to be able to have animation on both time delay or by using a click on
the same slide. Now it seems to be one or the other. I want the animation
to run automatically on time delay, but allow the user to click through if
they want. Any way to do this in PowerPoint 2003?

For example if you want a text to fade out on delay, or when you click on the
slide. You can do them separately by adding two fade out.

For the delay part,
add the fade (exit) on the text, set the delay, set the start to after
previous.

For clicking on the slide,
add the fade (exit) on the text.
Then, draw an autoshape (rectangle) that covers the whole slide.
Right click on the autoshape, select Format Autoshape.
Set to no line and the fill to 99% transparency(under color).
Click OK.

Now, right click on the second fade effect.
Select timing.
Click Triggers > Start effect on click of.
Click on the dropdown field and select the Autoshape(rectangle).
Click OK.

Now, the animation will start playing after x seconds, or when you click on
the slide.
See if it helps.
