Any way to make line chart show null data points?

The subject titles doesn't really explain this - I saw a similar subject to
this on this forum yesterday and now I can't find it.

I have a line chart, it doesn't matter how many series I have but I'm
plotting lets say one series over 52 weeks of the year.

If the data for the series stops before the end of the 52 weeks, I would
like the line to stop. This works if I clear the contents of the cell (which
I can do via macro but don't really want to, it's a big spreadsheet, lots of
data to crunch to get to my final graph.) As others have said on the forum,
if I get the formulas in the series range to return either #VALUE! or #ERROR!
or #N/A or FALSE then that doesn't replicate having a clear cell.

Is there no way to do this or is a macro my only choice?

Hello Steve,

if your data source is populated by formulas, then your only option i
to mask the data points with a second data series. The technique i
describe by Andy Pope here: 'AJP Excel Information - Broken lines
(http://www.andypope.info/charts/brokenlines.htm)

It's a bit of work to set up, but once in place you shouldn't have t
worry about it.

Cheers, teylyn
