Anyone getting email message? - ATTENTION: High Water Mark Notific

C

Christy

I am frequently getting email messages with the subject line "ATTENTION: High
Water Mark Notificiation, total bytes stored." and the following message is
in the body
"Your mailbox is over the high water mark.
Please delete some messages from your mailbox!"

Originally my IT people said it was virus related but I think it has
something to with the size of my .pst file.

Anyone else getting this? If so, how do you resolve it?

Thanks, Christy

Not your .pst file, but your Exchange mailbox. You'll need to do what it
says -- delete messages -- and then empty the Deleted Items folder.

That is a message from whatever mail server(s) you are using. If you
are using Exchange and they say it isn't their message then look at the
headers of the e-mail to see where it is coming from, and determine if
you actually have an account there.

If you're using a POP account, sounds like you are not removing messages
from your server. This isn't an Outlook or Exchange message.

I too am receiving this message using adelphia as my email server. I am using
it as a POP3 server and it is set to not leave a copy on the server, also -
if I check my webmail, there is nothing in there.
I would most definately have to say that this is an Outlook error as there
is no header information on the email, so it appears to have not come from
any outside servers.
Adelphia also has checked into it for me and I've had 3 tech support guys
say that it's not them and there's no reason on their side that it should be
generating the error...

it's not Outlook generating it. Does it read the same as the original
posters message? if so, do you check mail in more than one email account or
does aldelphia filter spam to a storage mailbox?

if not, do you use a database that could be sending it?

I am also getting this message from ADMIN, but all my POP accounts are
emptied as I go. My .pst file is only 110 mbytes. THe ADMIN sender has no
more details. Does anyone know the high water message that Outlook does
send?

This is not a local problem so pst-size or Outlook doesn't have to do
anything with it. You'll have to logon to your webbased mail client to see
where messages are stored.
