Anyone know of a dl Word merge template with an Excel data file?

I'm missing something re doing a merge in Word when Excel contains the
info (when it's the data source). Can anyone direct me to an example
set of files that do this?

what sort of problems are you experiencing with the mail merge and what
versions of word / excel are you using?
