Gotta love value added software. I recently got a new Dell too and it takes
longer to unload their stuff than it does to load mine. And that's without
the nog :)

David Berry

Why not? My past few PCs have been Dell and I've never had an issue with
them. This one's an XPS 410 Intel Core2 6600, 2.4 GHz, 4 GIG Ram, 512
GeForce 700 GTX, 500 GIG HD, Dual DVDs, Dual TV Tuner etc. Runs great.

I like the Dells, except for some of the proprietary stuff, like their power
supplies and other hardware, but configured from their site and running out
of the box they work just fine.

Although I buy my PCs at the AAFES - Army Exchange Store (no tax, no
shipping and cheaper) and Dell's their main vendor (they have HP and Compaq
but you take what you get there - can't configure them) so that's another
reason I like them.

Murray

Well, for one thing, I am protesting the way they have treated my friend
Paul Dell, who current owns and operates http://www.dellwebsites.com - to
read about it, Google "Paul Dell".

For another thing, I can get better options, support, and prices having my
computers custom built by an acquaintance about 10 miles from my home. When
24 hours can make a big difference, I like this proximity!

M

Murray

I have one original Dell left in the bunch (I have 5 PCs in my immediate
farm, and 1 Mac). The Dell is running WXP Home and is not used for much
anymore....

The rest are custom-built rigs, ironically, using all the same components
that any Dell would use.... 8)

Is the Mac "Old MacDonald" on your farm? EIEIO.

Welp we needed a few laptops..usually I build my own destops...except for my
wife's last desktop. I couldn't buy the parts wholesale and compete with an
out the door price from Dell.

Here we go. Just bought a new book "Front page in and out" In it says
Microsoft no lingers supports some function like applets an hover. For hover
they do suggest, buttons.. I did upload java applets support to my website
and it works. Using the build in Internet explorer does not. right now I am
playing arround with it . But it is very hard for me and have a hard seeing
a lot of things because of my eye sight.

Hover Buttons are Java Applets that were replaced with interactive buttons
in FrontPage 2003. These are better because in order to see a hover button
people needed to have a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) installed on their PCs
and some people don't.
