"Assign Resources" Filter List

Is there any way to limit the filters shown on the drop down menus shown in
"Assign Resources" dialog box on "filterd by:" list. I have already checked
the filters that I want to appear on the menu using the "show in menu"
checkbox found when you go through Project --> Filtered For: --> More Filters
--> Edit... ; however, this seems to only change the "Project --> Filtered
For:" menu.
