Assign specific hours to each person involved in task

I want to directly assign number of hours that each individual would spend on
each task. It seems to me that by assigning percentages of the available
time, I lose all control.

Hi,

Absolutely right you are. I hate percentages, one never knows what they are
besed on.
Window, split. In the lower pane you can assign resources and work.

I also agree. I hate using percentages in most cases. You will find it less
frustrating if you set your Task Type to “Fixed Workâ€. In fact I prefer this
as my default (Tools/Options/Schedule). By using this Task Type, your %
(Units) will remain fixed, unless you change them. Duration will be
calculated by the Units and Work entered. If you want to change Duration
from the calculated amount, you can do so after entering the Work.
