Assigning holiday time

When a resource is on holiday, I include this on their resource calender. Is
there like a way to show this as a timeline (bar) for that resource.

i have a master project with lots of subprojects assigned to many resources.
Resources go on on holiday's and I want this to be graphically represented in
the Gantt Chart. I know you can show a graph on Assign resources and View
availability and resource graph too but I don't want that.

Hope it make sense. Thanks ppl.x

WSH,
Instead of using the Calendar to set the resources holidays, you can create
a plan which looks like the Administrative projet in Project Server.
For example, create a "task" "Holiday" and assign Robert from today to the
30th of october....

Gerard,

Thanks for the quick response. Yes I thought of doing it like that by
creating a brand new project and saving it as 'holiday' with all resources
assigned to it.

The only problem is, I have to insert this 'Holiday' project into my Master
Project inorder for it to show in my Gantt view. I was hoping you wouldn't
have to insert it because I don't really want a 'Holiday' project to show on
my Master project as it isn't a 'real' project if you know what I mean.

Thanks for the advice tho, I don't mean to sound so picky!

You don't need to insert this 'Holiday' projet into your Master Project. You
just need to share the resources

I don't quite understand what you mean. My resources are saved on the Project
server so in effect they are 'shared' I think.

The only way to view this 'holiday' project as a timeline is by inserting
this into the Master project right?

Please correct me if I am wrong!

I didn't know you are using Project Server.
Of course, with Project Server, the resource sharing is permanent.
In Project Server, there is the Administrative project feature for that. You
don't need a Master Project.
