assigning reccurring tasks + getting updates

I am assigning tasks that are recurring to others and wanting my tasks to
update when they are completed and show the new task as uncomplete but it
will not update on recurring tasks that are assigned. It works brilliant for
one off tasks but not for recurring tasks?!?! help!!
