Assigning tool time for resources

B

bmcqueen

Hi,

I have discovered a feature of Project 2007 that is causing me som
problems. I want to assign an engineer and access to a tool (so tha
no-one else can use it). However if I assign both as work resources an
my engineer is on holiday, it schedules for the tool to do 50% of th
work on its own. How can I ensure that both are required simultaneousl
to perform the task.

Any help with this would be appreciated

Hello bmcqueen,

In the task information form, advanced page, uncheck "effort
driven".

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi,

As for the 50%, Julie provided the answer
But as for your other question, I am deeply ashame to say that MS Project
has never thought about the need of resoruces working together: when a
resoruce has days off on its calendar, the other resorucs on the tasks
happily continue their part of the work.

There is a lengthy workaround to this, see my website
(http://users.online.be/prom-ade/) then click Microsoft Project: an
abstract.
