Attachments showing as .pcx files

Hi all

I've had an e-mail where a couple of .doc attachments mysteriously became .pcx attachments. So now I can't open the attachments, and I have no clue how to recover them.

Any ideas what's going on here?

Depends on how these attachments were inserted.

PCX-files are picture files. A program like IrfanView is able to open these.

how to recover them.

They will come up as a pcx file if you try to forward an
email and attach the file. A work around would be to copy
and paste existing text into a newmessage, then attach the
xls file.

I am here searching or a resolution to that problem.
