I am currently setting up Project Server on a Novell
environment and I'm encountering a slew of problems
especially on the authentication side of things.
The most urgent problem is that Project Pro only allows
for Windows Authentication or MPS authentication.
If I choose Windows Authentication, there is no way (that
I know) to define a Windows Authentified user in Project
Server "Manage Users and Groups". So I get a "Access
Denied" from Project Server when I try to publish the
project.
If I choose MPS authentication, publishing a project
works but the STS features (document management and
issues) do not work because MPS & STS require Windows
Authentication to integrate.
The workaround that I use now is to use MPS
authentication AND created local accounts for each user
on the server. This way, Project Server works fine and
when using the STS features, a login window pops up for
them to use the local accounts.
As you can see this solution though workable is a
maintenance nightmare. Is this the right way to do it or
is there a better way ? Please help !
