Auto detect network connection

I have a user who ejects his laptop while Outlook is
open. When he brings it back up out of the doc Outlook
does not work anymore and he has to shut down and restart
Outlook to get it back. Is there a way to make this work
without having to shut down Outlook?

What version of Outlook? Outlook 2003, in cached Exchange mode, would
probably handle this scenario somewhat more gracefully than earlier
versions.
