auto layout in org charts

when I use auto layout to customize boxes/lines they do not stay in place.
If I go to PPS to view and return to normal view, boxes & lines are shifted.
How do I lock in my changes? Tks

Shifted how, Debbie?

If you turn off the auto layout, does it work better?
