auto link from Project 2000 to Access database

Is there a way to create a Project file that links to an Access
database automatically? I've tried out the import data feature, but
it requires the user to select a map each time the Project file is
open. I also don't want to write a small external procedure that maps
it to the database. I just want to know if there is something you can
set up within Project that would link it to the Access database when
the user opens the file from a public folder directory. Thanks.

Hi,

No. There is no DDE functionality in Office to Database records in Access.
However, you can save projects in any ODBC database (Including Access) and
update data in that database. This is then reflected when opening in
Project. However, you have to be careful and specific when editing the
database. Digest THOROUGHLY Projdb.htm: it's stored in one of Project's
program folders.
