Auto Open

Is there the equivalent of XL's 'auto_open' so the Slide Show automatically
runs when the PP icon is double clicked?

XLSTART din't work for PPT. You can not modified any Microsoft Office
Shortcut Properties as well. So, if you want to open a particular
presentation when you click the PowerPoint shortcut then you have to create a
new shortcut.

For instance, I use the following RUN commands to see if they works. Thats
really works for every well. Even you don't need XLSTART folder to open a
particular file every time you start Excel.

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\EXCEL.EXE" c:\Tricks.xls
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\POWERPNT.EXE" c:\Tips.ppt

The next step was creating a shortcut of those commands line on Desktop or
Start Menu. I right-clicked on Desktop - New - Shortcut and type the same
path.

Let us know, if this information is useful to you.

Thanks for the additional information. This will help the OP autorun a
presentation when the PowerPoint icon itself is doubleclicked (I hadn't thought of
that interpretation of the question, but it makes sense).
