Some time back, after the SP2 update, I found that Outlook had started
responding to requests for auto responses even with them switched off.
It did work correctly until that point, and does not work now, with
either Never or Ask selected.
The problem occurred with WIN98SE, SP2, and after updating the OS to
XP Home, and Outlook 2000 to SP3, the problem is still there. It
tends to occur most often with HTML spam, which leads me to ask if
there is a way the spammers have found to bypass the preferences so as
to let them know they have a live address? Anyway, any idea on how to
get this to work correctly again?
