My friend is using Outlook 2000. When he tries to send e-mail, autocomplete
is not working. (or maybe it's autoresolution he means). I have OL98 so I
can't really walk through it like I need to. I'm stumped at this point.
Under Advanced E-mail options, Automatic Name Checking checkbox IS checked.
I had him go into Address Book (Tools, Address Book). Names are shown in
Address Book - everybody where he works. I had him look in his Outlook
Contacts folder, and it is empty.
I had him look at his Address Book from the Start Menu (Accessories, Start
Menu) - the contacts list is empty, both for Shared Contacts and for Main
Identity. I guess this means his WAB file is empty.
So where are those names in his address book coming from? Not from the
Contacts folder, not from his WAB, so where? I thought maybe they're coming
from an Active Directory or something like that. I told him to click Tools,
Accounts, Directory Service - maybe the answer is there.
But he has written back and said that he has no Accounts option on his Tools
menu - these are the only options he has:
Send
Send/Receive
synchronize
remote word
dial up connection
address book
find
advance find
find public folder
organize
out of office assistant
form
macro
So I can't find out where his Address Book is getting the names from, or how
to get autocomplete or autoresolution working. Any ideas will be greatly
appreciated.
