autofill problem

I need to get excel to create a series of numbers where the number ends in
-1. Any ideas on how to get excel to autofill my way instead of the default
way?

Here's an example of the number.
Configuration Identifier
ESAN-HW-95001-1
ESAN-HW-95002-1
ESAN-HW-95003-1

No. But you can use a helper column to get the result you need. Put your
cursor in cell A1, type 95001, and autofill down. In cell B1, type the
formula:

="ESAN-HW-"&A1&"-1"

and copy that formula down. Then select the cells B1 to Bwhatever, press
Ctrl+C to copy, and click on Edit | Paste Special | Paste: Values | OK.
Delete column A.
