Automated Email

?

_

I am new to Sharepoint so this may be an easy answer. I want users to select
which report they want (I am using buttons right now but that may not be the
answer). When they click on a button(which is the report name) I want it to
automatically generate an email to me with the report name they have
requested. As it is now, I put in my email address and when they click on it
an email pops up for them to send to me. But I don't want them to have to go
through the trouble of typing an email. I want it to be automated. Does
this make sense? I will have to build their report so I don't want to link
them to anything but rather have a request sent. Also, if there is a way via
code or macro - could you please point me somewhere that could explain that
as well - new to that as well. Thanks for your help.

Sorry I didn't explain too clearly. I am using Sharepoint but I am editing
with Frontpage so I thought I should post here. With that clarification,
could my question be answered here? Thank you.

If you do the following steps, then this is what will happen:

1. The person will add their email address to a box and click on the
Submit button.
2. You will get an email with the person's email address and the name of
the report.

Is this what you want? If so, you can do it in FP easily. Here's how:

1. Type in the name of the report (or indicate in some way that when
they type in their email address and click on the button, they are
asking for that particular report).
2. Click where you want the email box to be and Insert > Form > Textbox
3. Right-click on Submit and click on Form Properties.
4. Under Send To, type your email address.
5. Click on Advanced... > Add
6. For Name, type "Report" or other category for the report, such as
"2005_Reports"
7. For Value, type the name of the report they are asking for, such as
"Jan_2005".
8. Save page and test it.

You will get an email with the person's email and the name of the report
as you coded above.
