automatic advance

In older version of PPT I set a kiosk show to
automatically advance. Even if a user clicked here or
there, after the preset timing, the show would continue
to advance by itself. In PPT 2002, once a user clicks,
the automatic advancing stops...WHY?

I don't follow you. In KIOSK mode the mouse click does nothing and
everything must be on auto advance (or navigation buttons provided). Are
you sure it is set to KIOSK Mode?
