Automatic play of slideshow

Hi, I've been asked in a recent assessment to save the
presentation so that it plays automatically without the
user having to open the presentation itself. How is this
done? I have tried the help facilities and it
suggests "Browse at a Kiosk", but this does not solve the
problem of not having to firstly open the presentation.

Change the file extension from .ppt to .pps

Either:
1. Change the file extension from *.ppt to *.pps, or
2. Do a "File", "Save as", and change the "save as type" dropdown to
"Powerpoint Slideshow".

It is usually a good idea to set up Windows Explorer to view the "Details"
of your files. This is done by:

1. Holding the "Flying Windows" key on your keyboard and pressing "E" (opens
My Computer in the "Windows Explorer" view).
2. Click the "View" menu and select "Details".
3. Click "Tools", "Folder options".
4. Click the "View" TAB
5. Uncheck the "Hide file extensions for known file types" checkbox.
6. Click the "Like Current Folder" button and accept the question asked.
7. Click "OK" to close out the dialog box.

Now you have each folder set up to see the details of your files. You can
go to a folder containing your presentations and change the file extension
from "ppt" to "pps". When you do, you will see the file "type" also change
from "Microsoft Powerpoint Presentation" to "Microsoft PowerPoint Slide
Show". For what it is worth, you can also click the "Name", "Type",
"Modified", etc., labels at the top and sort them ascending or descending.

Thanks a million, that did the trick. I hadn't changed the
file type when saving.
