Automatic Reallocation of Resources

My question is: Is there a way to level a project plan so that overallocated
resources are replaced with underallocated resources across the entire
project plan automatically? The leveling that I have tried seems to either
add delays to the timeline pushing back the end time or splits the task or
doesn't allow the subsequent task to start immediately upon completion of the
previous . What I want is for the overallocated resource to be removed from
the task and to have an underallocated resource assigned instead. The catch
is I don't want to have to do it manually for each resource.

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup

No Levelling only delays tasks where there is overallocation, nothing
more. How would Project know which resource to use to fill in the gaps?
