Automatic Rescheduling Stopped ?

I have a master project containing individual projects with links between
activities in the sub-projects. However, now when I create new links eg
finish to start from task A to task B, B does not move to start after A.
Calculation mods is set to Automatic. I have not assigned resources and I do
not believe it is a calendar or working time issue. Any ideas ?

Derek,
Check the Actual Start field of Task B. If there is an entry other then
"NA", the link is effectively null and void and task B will not move.
Task B will also not move if it has a constraint such as "Start no later
than" or "must start on" with a date that is equal to its start date,
and the option under Tools/Options/schedule tab is set so that tasks
will always honor their constraint dates.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

On top of John's precious advice: when there are links between projects
sometimes a circular reference sneaks in, and that halts the calculation as
well. If everything else fails: cut the links between projects till
calculation restarts. Hope this helps.

Derek,
Did you also take a look at what Jan suggested?

Just a dumb question here, but are either task A or B summary lines? Or
for that matter, do you have any links on summary lines in any of the
subprojects? If so, you need to remove those and then see how your plan
updates. For more information on summary line links, go to our MVP
website at, http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm, and take a look at FAQ
48 - Summary task Linking>

Thanks for your help guys, think it was a circular link, but it's a while
back now. Anyhow thought I'd say thanks, Derek.
