Automatically update projects when their base template changes

I am creating a master project plan consisting of 10 sub-project plans. Each
of the 10 sub-project plans is based upon the same generic base template (and
each sub-project could have custom tasks added to the generic template tasks).
My question is how can changes to the generic base template (such as new
tasks, modifications to durations, etc) be reflected in all of the
sub-projects built from that template?

Hi Wilson,

Can't be done simply. It may be possible with vba code - try posting on the
developer newsgroup. Please see FAQ Item: 24. Project Newsgroups. FAQs,
companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at this
web address: http://www.mvps.org/project/.

When you build a project file from a template all it does is make a copy of
the template and change the extension. There is no persistent link
remaining after the new file is created. Sorry, you're going to have to
edit the subprojects by hand individually.
