Autotext in header and footer not working

Hello,

We have previously (older revisions) used the auto text in the header and
footers. Today, I went to change something and tried to insert autotext and
it did not work. When I click on the auto text button that is on the left
side of the header and footer toolbar nothing happens. Auto text works when
I go from the Insert option. Why does nothing happen when I click on it from
the toolbar?
