BAC and Baseline

I found an interesting thing while getting the result of BAC. If only
save the baseline 1 - baseline 10, other than baseline, I could not get
the BAC. I just curiostiy why MS set up this rule. Do any one of you
have the same experience and know why?

Edward,

You have to specify which baseline you are taking in account for the
calculation of Earned value :
Tools / Options / Calculation / Earned value... / Baseline for....

Hope this helps,

Hi Gérard,

I have specified, but the BAC still equal zero, if I have saved it as
Baseline 1-10, other than Baseline.

Edward,

I didn't understand what you are doing. I made a test and observed the same
behavior than you. I think that Project developpers considered that the BAC
is the result of the very first baseline : Baseline and not Baseline1. Very
strange in fact. The VAC is calculated as a deviation from this hidden
BAC....

Hi Gérard,

Might make you confuse. The story background is we will try our EVM on
the current project in which we has not used EVM before. Unfortunately,
there is one important plan kept in baseline not baseline 1 - 10, and we
do not want to overwrite it. So when I used the baseline X to launch the
EVM, I could not find the BAC.

Based on this, my suggestion is to use "Baseline" to make the EVM
