Background does not send to other computers

Hello! I've put a background on my Word file using Format -> Background ->
Fill Effects in the trial verison of Office 2003. When I send the file to
someone else over e-mail though, they can't see the background image even
though they are in Print preview. The other computer is set up with Office
2000. Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks!

Backgrounds are for Web pages only (and display only in Web Layout view).
For printed documents you need a "watermark."
