Background Printing error message

Users are printing a Word document and keep getting hung up and the message
on the bottom says "background printing". This is not something that was
selected..how/why would this just show up?

Background printing can be disabled on the Print tab of Tools | Options in
Word. Normally it doesn't cause a problem, however. Is this a local or
network printer?

Network..the problem appeared that something called "Project.vbs" was
triggered off when you choose print. It looks like a virus..thank you.
