Backing up Office profile/preference data

My worl PC's profile frequently disappears for reasons unknown to me and our
Help Desk. Where are the Office 2000 preference settings stored in the
registry? I'd like to back them up regularly so that I don't have to start
over each time my network profile gets whacked.

Many of the settings are in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office.
You could save that branch to a .reg file and restore it when the need
arises. You might also want to take a look at the Office Profile Wizard,
which claims to save all of the Office application settings. You should
be able to find it under Programs | Microsoft Office Tools.
