backup in OL 2000

Can you tell me if there is a way to make an easy backup
of all my emails of all my folders to my CD drive, so the
emails are legible.
I used to use OE, it was kind of nightmare, I had to
backup email by email to a CD, if not they are saved, yes,
but unusable. I receive about 20 emails a day, that I need
to keep.
How to do with Outlook ?
Thanks a lot.

I don't know of a way to make them legible but there is an Add-In by MS to
run backups of outlook.

Backups to cd are not 'visible' to OL. The pst can only be opened if it has
full read/write access.

You could use OutlookExtract, www.outlookextract.com to save your email
messages to disk or CD.
It automates the extraction of the messages contained in Outlook (PST files)
and Outlook Express (DBX files). Once extracted, you can view, search and
organize the messages without the need to have Outlook installed. You can
also convert from the MSG format to EML, HTM or PDF.
