Backwards compatability issues 2007 --> 2003

I am curious to find out any workarounds that might exist for known
compatibility issues when working in 2007 on files destined for earlier
versions (specifically 2003). My initial forays have been disappointing.

Specifically, I am having issues with:
1. font formatting - loss of letterspacing and all caps settings
2. layout templates losing a vast majority of their customization:
A. Backgrounds - oddly only the title template background is showing up
in 2003
B. Layouts - only the master and title templates are showing up but are
being broken out into multiple Masters, as well as both having only the
master template's formatting in both (forgoing the title template formatting)
in 2003.

I've searched the Help and How-To links for PPT and confirmed these issues,
but haven't been able to find workarounds, if any exist.

TIA for any assistance!

Thanks for starting this as a new thread, MooseDesign.

1. Font formatting -- kerning and all caps are new PPT 2007 features. They
do not transfer when you open the file in 2003.

Sounds to me like you have applied those settings to placeholders and want
2003 users to be able to use those settings. Sorry, but that's not gonna
happen.

I'll get back on the backgrounds/layouts.
