That sounds like a weird one and I don't think there was any reported
bug concerning this phenomenon but I wouldn't swear by it. So for
starters, do you have the latest updates installed for your versions of
Project? For Project 2003, that is SP2.
What baseline(s) are you seeing change? For example, is it just one or
two fields (e.g. Baseline Start) or is it all of them (Baseline Start,
Baseline Finish, Baseline Cost, etc.)?
