baseline - milestone tracking

Hi all,

If my project plan is only tracking the milestones, and after I
baseline the project plan, can I track the milestone changes? What is
the good measurement or report to indicate the milestone date changes?

I used to baseline the tasks based on effort and I can track the
remaining tasks each week to indicate the overall project status
against the baseline, but I do not know the best parameter to track the
milestones.

Any suggestion or idea is appreciated.

Hi Frank,

I assume you are looking for the difference in Baseline Start or Baseline
Finish (same value with milestones) against Actual Start or Actual Finish of
the milestone. Assuming the milestones are linked to the tasks and therefore
adjust as you track progress, either the Start Variance or Finish Variance
will show you the difference between Baseline Start and Actual Start. The
Variance table applied to the Task Sheet shows this information or you could
add the fields to any task table view.
