Baseline Work does not equal Work after baseline has been performe

I am having a problem with the Baseline Work value displayed for a summary
task. The individual Baseline Work values for the subtasks are all equal to
the Work value as expected; however, the summary task value for Baseline Work
is not correct. It is close to the correct value but not equal. Worse yet,
on some summary tasks the Baseline Work value is correct. I have tried
reentering the summary task and letting the summary values be recalulated
with no success. The summary task Work value always seems to be correct.
Thanks for any help or suggestions that anyone can provide.

Hi Chaz
Are you sure you haven't allocated work to a summary task inadvertently?
Easy to do. Insert a resource column to check.

I agree with you Pratta.

It is a common occurance for users to take a Resource loaded task, decompose
it into multiple tasks, and leave the Resource and Work on teh original task
that is now a summary.

This will make the Work values at the summaries look overgrown, especially
at the top of the project!
