I want to turn off the battery alarm indicator in windows xp that pops
up during the middle of my presentation saying "your battery is fully
charged". How do I do that?

Interesting. No laptop I've used has had a 'fully charged' alert.

In any case, the answer to your question is "it depends."

Assuming it is configured the same way that one configures the 'low
battery' alarm, it is one of the controls in the Windows Control Panel
folder. Some laptops use the Windows default 'Power' (or 'Power
Options') dialog box. Others, such as Toshiba laptops, use a vendor
specific dialog box. In Toshiba's case it is called Toshiba Power
Saver'.

I am going to guess it is a Sony laptop - one of their more annoying
"additions" to the OS. Tushar is correct, there is a setting in the Power
Settings control panel to turn it off.

Thanks, it is a Sony and with your input I went to the Sony website and
found the answer. The key is clicking on the red and white power panel
flag in the taskbar, not going to the power options icon in control
panel. I'll breathe easier in my next presentation!
