BCWP is always zero when using Physical % Complete for EVA

Hi folks,

I've seen similar posts to this in the past and the problem has always been
down to lack of a baseline, wrong status date, that kind of thing.
Well I'm relatively earned value savvy and and believe I have done all the
right things but I'm still getting zero BCWP when I use Physical % Complete
rather than % Complete as the basis for my EV calculations.
If I swap a task back to use % Complete then BCWP is fine.
Swap it back to use Physical % Complete and it zeroes again.

I've checked and re-checked the data but really have run out of ideas.
So; any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

If it helps at all, I have never been able to get that option to work
either. I always chalked it up to the feature just not working correctly
for "Physical % Complete"

Thanks Jonathan - morale support is always a boost :¬)
I'd be keen to get views from others too so we can establish if its really a
bug or not.

Tools/Options/Calculations (tab). Click Earned Value and change it to
Physical%Complete.

Change EVERY task to use Physical%Complete. I do this by displaying them
all and then selecting all tasks. Then click on the Task Information Icon,
pull the Advanced Tab and then change EV to Physical%Complete. It can also
be done by inserting EV Type as a column.

Rebaseline.
You need to memorialize %Compelte into Text1 or similar, then zero it out
before baselining. Then copy the "memorialized' % back to Physical%Complete.

We do this frequently and have only a few problems. One problem is that
Physical%Complete does not show on the Gannt bars so you have to tweak the
Format/Bar Styles.

Thanks Jim but no joy.
I've done all you recommend but BCWP is still zero :¬(
