Blank boxes appear instead of +, -, =, signs.

When I use equation editor in Microsoft Power Point Files and return to the
text after craeting equations, blank boxes appear instead of =, +, - etc
signs for operators.

Please let me know how to fix this problem.

after typing the equation?

In the past, most users have reported that this resolves after a full cold
reboot.
