blank 'from' address line periodically when sending an email

Does anyone know of any fixes to outlook 2003 on this? I remember reading
something about it in the knowledge base a while ago but can't seem to find
anything about it... Sometimes in Outlook i'll send an email and if i look in
my sent messages or if they reply back to me, I'll find that the "from" line
that would contain my email address is totally blank. It's a pain because
sometimes people don't get my emails because junk mail filters will flag it
since it can't find a known sender on it. But it's not always that this
happens so it's becoming a real annoyance.... Any help on if there is a fix
on this would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,
Heidi

I've never seen this happen. However, theoretically, I imagine it could
happen if the POP account on which a given email to which you're replying
has a problem (e.g. registry glitch) in the From address setting.

This would happen only if you have multiple email accounts set up in
Outlook. Start composing a new email. In the Standard toolbar, drop down the
Accounts list and see what accounts are listed. Try each of them (assuming
you have multiples) and send test emails to yourself. When/if you find one
that creates a blank From address, try deleting that account definition in
Outlook, and re-creating it from scratch.

Herb - I do not have multiple email accounts actually. All I have is my
hotmail, so it's HTTP rather than POP.

There is some document on the knowledge base somewhere that shows that
microsoft is aware of the glitch in outlook that i read a couple months ago
but for the life of me i can't seem to find it again to see if there is any
resolution or fix....

Thanks,
Heidi
