Blue Colored File Names? What Does It Mean?

Hello All....

I have noticed for the last 3-weeks that some of my file names are
colored "blue". Is there any reason for this? Should I be concerned?

Regards...

In the Windows folder? They are usually updates, service packs and the like. If
you have "hidden folders" enabled you will see them.

Hi Mary, thanks for the fast reply. When I open up Microsoft Publisher
2002, then click on "FILE", then click on "OPEN", then click on one of
my file folders, some of the font colors of the publisher document file
names are in the bright color of blue while all the others are black.
This has NEVER happened before. Any thoughts?

Thanks...Tom Gearhart

Have no idea why some are blue. Do the files open okay? What does properties say
when you right click one of the files?
Have you changed your theme or maybe something in the Accessibility options?
I looked around in the Knowledge Base, nothing there helps.

Maybe the files are compressed?

Right click one of the blue files and from
the menu...choose...Properties / General
tab / Advanced button...

Uncheck...Compress Contents To Save
Disk Space...OK / Apply / OK..

Gee John, I knew that...
I never compress stuff and I did read about it in other forums, just didn't
occur to me. Thanks for helping out.

BTW, encrypted files are green.
