Bookmarks for use by other documents

Barb Reinhardt

I may have a need to save what I'm calling bookmarks within existing word
documents so that they can be used by other documents (both Word and Excel).
Can this be done? I assume I'd have to save them into a file that's
accessed by all docs somehow.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I suspect that what you are talking about is AutoText. That is saved in
templates. See http://addbalance.com/usersguide/autotextautocorrect.htm for
more on AutoText. See http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for
step-by-step instructions on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up
customizations including AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments,
toolbars, macros, etc.

What Word calls bookmarks are available in other documents using the Insert
File command.

Are you by chance a refugee from Word Perfect land?
