Bug assigning resources

F

Fcoatis

When I set up a resource availability, the future periods of
unavailability of the selected resource is reschedule. If the period
of unavailability is short and falls in within a task period, the task
is shown splitted in the start date and end date. If I assign a
material resource in the task the end date is reschedule too. Is that
correct?

Hi,

Assuming you set resoruce availmabilmity through Resource information, not
through the resource calendar:

1. Future periods are not rescheduled unless you use Resource Leveling
2. Task is split only when you use resource leveling
3. Material resource do not, never, influence task start or end dates

If you set resoirource unavailability through the resoruce's working time 1.
and 2. above are true, even without resouce leveling.

Hi TIA

Check if the resource levelling option is on. Tools > Level resources >
uncheck levelling can create splits in remaining work.
This should solve the problem of splitting task.

Also, if you do not wish to have automatic scheduling of the programme with
respect to resource availability in the same window select the option of
manual at the top.

For material resource there is no option of availability. If this is
happening your material resource must be in the Work resource category. Check
in the 'Resource Sheet' view. If you assign your material resources in the
material category, this should not happen for material resources.

I hope it helps.
