1. Fresh install
2. Open Global Resource Pool
3. Create 1 generic resource "Developer"
4. Close Resource Pool
5. New Project
6. Build Team from Enterprise
7. Create tasks and assign "Developer"
8. Save Project ("Test")
9. Open Global Resource Pool
10. Change "Developer" name to "Developer A"
11. Close Resource Pool
12. Go to PWA
13. Choose Resources
14. Choose "Developer A"
15. Choose "View Availability"
16. Choose view "Assignment Work by Resource"
17. See breakdowns for "Developer A" and "Developer" -> only shows work for
"Developer"-> BUG? We only have one resource
18. New Project
19. Build Team from Enterprise
20. Create tasks and assign "Developer A"
21. Save Project ("Test 2")
22. Go to PWA
23. Choose Resources
24. Choose "Developer A"
25. Choose "View Availability"
26. Choose view "Assignment Work by Resource"
27. See breakdowns for "Developer A" and "Developer" -> shows work for
"Developer" and "Developer A" -> BUG? We only have one resource

What I really should be seeing is breakdown for "Developer A" in both
projects. "Developer" does not exist any more. Can't find this in MS
Support/Knowledge Base.

Dave:

You need to use Collaborate > Republish to synch up the change you made to
the resource with the web tables. The system is behaving exactly as
designed. You need to get a feel for the way publishing data works between
Project and Project Web Access.

Thanks Gary,

You mean Republish when I've got the the Enterprise Resource Pool checked
out? Or Republish project plans?

Cheers

Dave

PS. Nice book by the way. It's been a great resource so far and I can see us
using it extensively :)

I cannot resolve this Gary. I choose one resource in the Resource Center and
it shows up doubled (old name/new name). I assume I have to republish the
project with the old name to update it. However I open that project, choose
Callaborate > Publish > All Information, Callaborate > Publish > Project
Plan and Callaborate > Publish > Republish Assignments and close the
project. Go back to the Resource Center, start from the top (select resource
and View Availability) and the old name is still there and I still have two
resources showing for the one resource.

Help!
