Building Templates with Time Calculations

I would like to build a template schedule for multiple people to use
for different projects.

I have multiple tasks that are recurring. I need to be able to have
the beginning date and either the end date or number of recurrences set
automatically from some input. That is, I want to be able to input the
information in one place such that all recurrent tasks will be able to
use.

I have multiple tasks that last the duration of the project or phase.
They consume effort weekly. Their consumption rate is fixed (each task
has a different consumption rate) but they need to span either the
entire project or a portion (depending upon the specific task).

What are some ways to set this up so the users of the templates won't
have to go to each task to set parameters?

Make sure every task is driven by links. For recurring tasks, replace their
constraining dates with links. For tasks that last the duration of the
project create hammock tasks (see FAQ at www.mvps.org/project ). Now simply
setting the Project Start Date and relevant durations will be all that's
needed.
