Bulk Deletion - no notifications

I archive off my old deleted/sent items and am going through cleaning them
out (completley deleting them) to reduce my .pst file size.


Last time I did this a load of not read or read receipts were issued even
though I have 'Never send a response' checked.

How can I ensure that when I delete once and for all that people's inboxes
aren't going to be bulging...?
