Calculate complete dates

I'm currently using MSP 2003. I track tasks by % complete and also use the
status indicator to tell me if the task is on track.

Is there a way I can "calculate" when the task would complete based on the
percentage complete? For example if the task is 30%, but it's not on track
(status indicator is red), can Project calculate for me when the task would
be 100% based on the fact that it's 30% today?

Thank you!

You need to move to tracking by Actual Duration. For each task enter:
Actual Start Date
Actual Duration
then update Remaining Duration

% complete is calculated for you.

More accurate again is to track actual work in a usage view or use a time
sheet system that directly updates .mpp files.

Hi,

Using the tracking toolbar, there is a button "Reschedule work". Once you
have entered the % complete, click on that button will split the task at the
percentage complete and reschedule the remaining portion of the task tom
start at the status date.

Hope this helps
