Calendar Printing Assistant

I would like to create a very simple calendar that shows more information.
The available styles take up too much room with stuff at the top and bottom
of the calendar I don't need. I am using a half page setup for a daytimer.
I looked in Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates but couldn't find the
catx files referred to in a previous post. Where are they? Is there any
information on their format? Will these files give me the ability to
customize to the extent I desire?

When you first open the CPA, you see Calendar1.calx in the title bar, meaning
you have a blank, unsaved calendar ready for editing -- similar to Document1
in Word or Book1 in Excel. Can you give me more detail on what you're trying
to do and what part of the CPA you find to be complicated?

I can't get CPA to print two 5.5 by 8.5 calendar pages on a single sheet.
Also, I can't figure out how to reformat the output to get rid of or reduce
the size of the previous/next month calendar at to the top of the page to
leave more room for data in a particular day field. Also I would like to
reduce the size of the day date in each day cell in a month. I looked at the
templae files - the calx files - and couldn't figure out how to modify them
to do what I want. Also there appears to be a bug in the normal outlook
calendar printing. It doesn't print more than one item per day in the month
print mode.

I took a look at the 2 months-per-page print style in Outlook and I think the
reason it will only print one item per day is that's all it has room for when
it's squeezing two calendars onto one 8.5x11" page. This is something that
users have complained about for a long, long time -- that Outlook's print
styles for calendars will only print what there is room for without changing
the size of the calendar.

As for the CPA -- I have done some research but there is not a whole lot of
documentation out there about the .catx template files, except that they are
XML or based on XML. If you tell me which of the .catx templates you were
looking to use, I can play around with it and see if I can figure it out, and
maybe tweak the template to do what you want (no promises, I'm not an XML
guru by any means!).

I talked with microsoft about outlook not printing more than one item per day
in month mode. The customer support guy said it was a bug and that it should
be corrected in the future.

CPA does print multiple items per day. All I am looking for in a CPA print
is a "simple" format but eliminating the month before and month after banner
at the top of the page to increase the room to print items on the calendar
day cells. Also, I have tried to print a month veiw CPA outputs at two 5.5
x 8.5 pages per sheet and can't seem to get it to work. It requests legal
sized paper. It seems strange to me that microsoft would make a product like
this with so many deficencies and so little support.

Thanks for the help so far. I'll google XML and see what I can find out. I
used to do some HTML stuff so maybe I can figure out something.
